数ヶ月前、ＴＶジャパンを見ていて、大発見！佐藤義則さんという元大投手で、現在日本一のピッチング・コーチのお話から、演奏家にとって、とても大事なことを学んだ。佐藤さんご自身も４４歳まで現役で投げ続け、その後コーチになり、沢山の優秀なピッチャーを育てている。まず第一点。「コーチとして、一人一人の投手の、一番良い時のピッチングフォームを隅々まで焼き付け、覚えておくこと。」これは、音楽教師として、生徒達を指導する時にも、とても大事なことだ。難しいパッセージを綺麗に弾きこなせたときは、何がどう良かったのかを、きちんと分析する必要があるからだ。難しい箇所が弾けない時には、必ず理由がある。肩、腕、手首の位置や柔軟性、呼吸のタイミング、準備態勢（どうやってそのパッセージに入るか）、目はどちらの手を見るか、親指がきちんと動いて次のポジシォンに連れて行ってくれるか、もちろん基本的はテクニックがその曲を演奏するに達しているか、など、沢山の要因があるものだ。分析することは、生徒達が、運に任せ、ただ何となく弾いているのではなく、頭を使って１００％に近い確立で弾きこなせるようにする訓練になる。第二点「まっすぐ戦う勇気を持つこと。」ピッチャーは（演奏家は）、マウンドで（ステージ上で）たった一人で戦わなければならない（たった一人で、演奏しなければならない）。ピッチャーは、格の上のバッターと当たると、萎縮して通常の力が出せないという。演奏家も全く同じだ。練習ではちゃんと弾けても、いざ本番となると、緊張で頭は真っ白、体はがちがち、指は氷のように冷たくなり、全く普段の自分とは違う状況に直面。準備したように演奏出来なくなる場合がある。佐藤さんは、投手達に、「練習は本気、試合は遊び気分でいけ」、とおっしゃる。これは、練習では１２０％弾けても、演奏会では８０％にしか演奏できない場合を考え、まさにその通り！と思う。練習の中で本気で自分と向き合い、戦い、難しい箇所を克服し、本番のコンサートでは、勇気を持って、演奏を楽しむ。一流のスポーツ選手も演奏家も、運任せでは、出来ない仕事なのだ。佐藤コーチ、素晴らしいお話しありがとうございます。

旭天鵬関、感動の場所をありがとう。相撲ファンの皆さんも、連日興奮の時を送ったことと思います。今場所は、毎日がドラマでしたね。豊響が流した涙も感動的。こちらも、思わずもらい泣きしてしまいました。白鵬の骨折を押しての相撲。まさに、横綱の意地と誇りを見せました。本当に、すごい横綱になりました。朝青龍とは、白と黒（名前の通り！）のイメージの白鵬関。朝青龍の引退後は、相撲協会を引っ張って、数々のスキャンダルを乗り切ってきました。境川部屋の躍進、千秋楽までもつれ込んだ優勝戦線、数え切れない名勝負。そして、千秋楽の旭天鵬関の最年長での優勝。溢れる涙、涙、涙。そして、花道を下がってきたところで、同僚の力士達から「おめでとう」を言ってもらって、その何人かも、涙ぐんでいた。旭天鵬関の人柄を物語っているようでした。日ごろのインタビューでも、肩のこらない、自然体で、好印象なのだけれど、優勝インタビューが又、とっても良かったですね。旭天鵬関は、モンゴルから日本の相撲の世界に入ったパイオニアで、その後、数々来日したモンゴル力士達への下地を作り、皆を導いてきたことでも、知られています。こういう人が、相撲協会に新しい風を吹かせ、相撲ファンを増やして行くのだと、確信しています。感動の１５日を本当にありがとう。２日経ったいまも、まだ、余韻に浸っている私です。
