秋場所が、興奮の渦の中で終了。千秋楽は、まさに死闘でしたね。白鵬もすごかったけれど、日馬富士の戦い振りには、本当に感動しました。現在３１連勝中、２場所連続の優勝、そして横綱昇進。心よりおめでとう、と言いたいです。テレビで拝見するようになってから、私は、日馬富士関の一貫したその謙虚で真摯な態度が好きです。ご両親を敬い、母国を愛し、お相撲に来てくださるお客様に敬意を表し。決して大きくないその体は、お相撲する事に完全な力を発揮して（千代の富士関を思い出します）、相撲中は集中しているけれど、リラックスした時に見せる笑顔はとても人懐っこい。今までに確か２度綱取りに失敗した経験があるだけに、今回のチャンスに磐石を期した感がありますね。心身共に、最高の状態でした。そして１才年下の白鵬関も、横綱の地位を明け渡すのではなく、火花を散らして、日馬富士との好勝負を沢山沢山見せて下さい。これからの２横綱時代に期待しています。 日本人の優勝力士が栃東関以来出ていないとか、若乃花以来日本人横綱が出ていないとか、もう散々言われてきた事だけど、私は、そういう範疇でお相撲を捉える時代は終わったのではないかと、思っています。もちろん、輪島関、千代の富士関などの活躍を、手に汗にぎりながら見て育った経験を持つ私としても、淋しくないことはないです。でも、野球だって、ゴルフだって発祥の地を離れて全世界に広がり、裾野の人口を増やし、人気を高めて来たわけです。日本でも、どれだけの人がゴルフをやり、野球をやり、世界に通ずる選手を搬出してきたことか・・。現在いる日本人の２大関にもがんばって欲しいし、妙義龍関にも、期待しています。又、下からどんどん元気な若手が出て来ています。日本人力士もがんばっているし、外国から夢を抱いて来日した沢山の力士達もがんばっている。それで、良いんです。千秋楽は、いつもにも増して、好取組が多かった気がします。１１月の福岡、今から、興奮しています。
