昨年から演奏しているバッハのゴルトベルグ変奏曲。今回で３回目のコンサート。ロサンゼルスの新聞にも取り上げてもらった事もあって、沢山の音楽好きのお客様が集まってくれた。演奏の後、一人のお客様が、「主人が最初に誘ってくれた時は、長いコンサートになるなあと、渋ったけれど、聞き始めたら音楽に取り込まれ、時間も忘れて聞いてしまった」と感動してくれた。正にこれが「ゴルトベルグ」の持つ力である。演奏する私自身も、演奏の間で、いろいろな気持ちになり、様々な思いがよぎる。沢山の人が、暗譜と持久力に驚くが、それもそのはず。７０－８０分の間、ちょこっと間をあけるだけで、ずっと弾き続けるのだから。でも、私自身この機会にこの曲を勉強出来たこと、そして一緒に成長（まあこの年でこの言葉は普通は使わないけど）、演奏を通じて沢山の人にゴルトベルグ変奏曲の素晴らしさを伝えられたことは、とても貴重な時間だと思っています。今月の終わりには、フロリダで演奏が待っています。

皆様、新年明けましておめでとうございます。今年も、昨年同様、よろしくお願いします！ ロサンゼルスは、強風が吹いた日もありましたが、おおむね快晴の、年末年始でした。例年のごとく、私は主人の実家で数日、主人の家族達と過ごしました。主人は、４人兄弟なので、皆集まると賑やかで、楽しいですね。ゲームをしたり、ご飯を食べてただしゃべったり、そして食事の後片付け・・。まあ、どこの家でもやることです。今年は一番上のお兄さんの家族が欠席、そして二番目のお兄さんのところの２人の子供が欠席だったけれど、若い世代に家族が増えているので、小さい子供達が、皆のおもちゃに。まあ、何にせよ、平和で楽しい家族の時間でした。昨年の東日本大震災を経て、こういう「普通」の時間が、本当に大事で、かけがいのない事を、痛感しています。家族を失い、職を失い、住む家を流され、地域のつながりが絶たれた多くの方々。昨年３月１１日まで、家族、仕事、ご近所、生きがいのバランスの中で、平和な日々を送っていらしたのに。そのバランスが、一瞬のうちにことごとく断ち切られてしまった。狭くて居心地の悪い仮設住宅の中で、生きがいを失って呆然とする方達。何で生き残ったんだと、嘆くお年寄り。将来への不安しかなく、眠れない夜を過ごしている沢山の人。国から地方自治体、そして個人への支援の流れが効果的でなく、かつとても遅いので、復興、そして未来像を描くことが出来ない、被災地の皆さん。働き者の日本人なのだから、目的がはっきりすれば、全員一丸となって、目標達成に向かって皆で力を合わせていけるのに・・。自治体の中では、国からの回答を待たずに多額の借金をして、復興に向け発進した市もあるし、インターネットでボランテイアや支援を働きかけ、自分達だけで高台移転、新しい町作りを始めた町村もある。すでに一年が経とうととしている、被災地の皆さん。海外の我々も応援しています。忘れていません。どうぞ自暴自棄にならずに、明日を信じて、小さな毎日の中に何か楽しみを見つけて頂ければと、遠方より深く願っています。又、被災地を訪れて、アメリカの人達の応援の声を届けられればと、思います。どうぞ皆様にとって、２０１２年が、素晴らしい年になりますように。
