Such a delight to read András Schiff ‘s memoir! He has tremendous humor and sharp mind to tell us his stories. He goes through many fascinating episodes which was recorded in the conversation between Sir Schiff and Martin Meyer. This conversation is in the first part of this book, and the second part contains Sir. Schiff’s essays, analyses and portraits. He writes about his favorite works and composers! You imagine!

It is a biographical book which has Sir. Schiff’s childhood in Hungary through to the present day. To me it is very interesting to learn how he grew up in Hungary, his family, his music, his friends.. This book may be a key to understanding Sir. Schiff’s attitude toward music.
