Tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto (1952 – 2023) 　坂本龍一の残したもの

Sakamoto passed away on March 28, 2023. His achievement is so big and I am sure so many people have already written about it. Personally, I grew up listening to YMO, and as an adult I performed his piano music on so many occasions. I took his music for my tours when I introduced Japanese music to the world. I remember when I was in Uruguay, the Japanese ambassador liked Sakamoto’s “Aqua”, and I taught him how to play it. I like his “Intermezzo” and often performed “Intermezzo” and “Aqua” as a pair. It works. Ryuichi Sakamoto is very big, but he never lost his inner voice. He was always very sincere. Music, that is he cared for. His music will stay in our mind forever.
