A Movie: The Remains of the Day

A Movie: “The Remains of the Day” is a Booker-winning novel by Kazuo Ishiguro. This movie is Kazuo Ishiguro’s sincere portrait of Stevens, the perfect butler, who hides his true feelings. His love was never spoken or expressed. Sir Kazuo Ishiguro is a Nobel Prize winning, British novelist, screenwriter, musician, and short-story writer. He was born in Nagasaki, Japan, and moved to Britain in 1960 when he was five.
Stevens (Anthony Hopkins), at the end of three decades of service at Darlington Hall, spending a day on a country drive, visits his love (Emma Thompson) from the past. This journey embarks going through his memory in service as a a butler. Mr. Stevens was proud of himself to serve the great gentleman, Lord Darlington. But he was starting to be doubtful toward his master, Lord Darlington. The movie is always quiet. Mr Stevens is passionate when he is by himself in his room. He is desperate, but he does not express. In some way, I relate to Mr. Stevens as a Japanese. Anthony Hopkins is a true actor. It is a wonderful movie. I am deeply touched.
