A Movie “Trumbo” 1/5/16
January 5, 2016
It is my first movie of 2016! I chose well. In 1947, Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) was Hollywood’s top screenwriter, but he and other Hollywood artists (Hollywood Ten) were jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs. This movie keeps a good dynamic, not too loud and not too soft. That is why we feel as if we were Trumbo’s neighbors or friends. TRUMBO, directed by Jay Roach, follows how Dalton used words and wit (he is as if Mozart! He does not need to think about how he wants to write. The words come to him naturally.). He won two Academy Awards under different That is the only way he could work as a write in Hollywood for a while. The cast is great (for instance Helen Mirren as a gossip columnist, Hedda Hopper and Diane Lane as Trumbo’s wife)! It is very interesting to see how John Wayne and Kirk Douglas reacted to this movement. You will see who is a hero and who is NOT a hero. You must see this movie!
