The Movie “Venus in Fur” is a movie-within-a-play based on a play-within-a-play. There are only 2 people on the same set for the whole movie, Vanda (Emmanuelle Seigner), a tardy, gum-smacking actress who arrives on a stormy night for an audition and a director, Thomas (Mathieu Amalric), at a Paris theater for a production called “Venus in Fur.” “Venus in Furs” is about a man (in this movie Thomas is this man) who craves to be dominated by his love, Vanda. We will be led into the mysterious theatre with the world of an amazing imagination and fantasy, also psychological complication. We will be confused, amused, teased…. It is a great creation by Polanski.
