A Movie “20 Feet from Stardom” 7/8/13

This movie tells us about an untold true story of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century. So they are top backup singers. Yes, their lives are mostly behind the scene, but there are many many more singers who would like to be in their positions. Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Mick Jagger and Sting are on this movie to tell about their deep relationship with those singers. They worship the artistry of (top) backup singers. It is actually very interesting to hear their real voice toward backup singers. Backup singers are very important part of their recordings and concerts. So they are backup singers, but they are almost very front of stage as well. It is a great movie to learn about the lives of backup singers and their roles in music industry. Now I have a different view toward pop/jazz concerts. The featured backup singers are Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, Lisa Fischer, Judith Hill, Tata Vega, and it is fascinating to learn their personal stories as well.
