“Art in the Street” at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA 8/1/11
August 1, 2011
I have been meaning to visit this exhibition for a while, and finally I found the time to go! And I must admit I was very lucky. Mondays are free admission so there was a line to enter the museum. The group of visitors approached me and offered the special VIP admission. So I saved at least 20 minutes of waiting. Thank you so much!! This is the first major historical exhibition of graffiti and street art in the US. It surveys from the origin in 1970’s to the current time, and follows them into the worldwide art style. Of course Rap, Tattoo, Skateboarding, and Street Fashion are a part of their life style. Graffiti is an expression which we can interpret in many ways. It was very interesting to visit and to experience the street art in a closer distance. The exhibition will end on 8/8/11. I will post several photos from the exhibition in this web page.
